The Finance division manages and coordinates all financial activities of the worldwide BASF Group companies. They range from the procurement of equity and debt finance, the disposition of cash to the interest rate and currency hedging. Moreover, the international accounting play as well as the cost and performance an important role.

In the field of money and capital markets are the strategic financial planning, financial structuring of the global group companies and the portfolio and risk management in the foreground. Both the service and support subsidiaries in all aspects of financing and the preparation of acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures are among the most challenging task areas of a transnational company.

The financial sector also provides accounting and reporting in accordance with national and international standards. Internal consulting units here support subsidiaries in all aspects of accounting. Ranging from consulting to implementation of SAP-R/3-Einführungen up to support the structure and process organization. A powerful cost and performance ensures effective collaboration with the decentralized controlling units.

Only in June 2000, BASF was awarded to the New York Stock Exchange. Here, too, maintains the Investor Relations team, contacts with private and institutional investors from around the world.
